Quotes about Peace : Byron Katie
Quotes about Peace : Byron Katie
“Peace doesn't require two people;
it requires only one.
It has to be you.
The problem begins and ends there.”
― Byron Katie, Loving What Is : Four Questions That Can Change Your Life
Principles that can bring peace
Principles that can bring peace
“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.
What do you think about this quote? I have been speculating on this quote to figure it out. Knowing the author’s background, I guess it’s about being diligent that can make us be free from pressures or slump. He is a lecturer, poet and essayist who wrote mainly about self-improvement and successful life.
However I would like to apply it to world peace, not
only to individual peace. I thought world peace also can be brought only by ourselves and the triumph of principles. What would be ‘the principles’ in this case? It might be the principles of to get along with other people and not to fight with anyone. Yes, it’s love. In other words, not being selfish but being altruistic. Sounds really elementary, yet it is not easy to put in action. Again, there’s no other one who can bring us peace but ourselves, so it is us who
should make the principles achieve a triumph too.

How is it possible to be selfish and altruistic at the same time? Be diligent for yourself and be loving for all of us. In this way we may achieve a perfect peace!
What's going on in Myanmar
What's going on in Myanmar
Have you heard of Rohingya peaple? Rohingya is a minority race in Myanmar. They have been suffered in some reasons in that country.
Myanmar(Burma) where Buddhism is the major faith, consists of many nationalities and Rohingya is one of them. They are now discriminated and even cutting off from access to medical service because of religious reason. They are Muslims.
We generally think Buddhists are moderate and they love peacefulness, but in Myanmar, they protest on the streets to kick out Rohingya and kick out Muslims in their country. So about a million Rohingya is getting out of Myanmar, and heading to neighboring countries, floating on boats. They all became refugees, avoided and rejected.
Children are killed by malnutrition and diseases, women and girls are being raped, men are massacred. Every horrible thing is being done to these people on earth right now. However, Myanmar government and Aung San Suu Kyi the president of the country as well as a Nobel Peace laureate, are doing nothing just turning their face away from the situation which can be called genocide in their land.
A columnist of The New York Times visited Myanmar and asked a boy from Buddhist region, what if he saw a Rohingya child. The 13 year old boy answered he would kill him. And he asked Muslim children what they would do if they encounter a Buddhist boy. “Hack him,” said the 8 year old child.
What are the religions for? It seems people use them to justify killing people, hating others. They might not know the true meaning of religion seeing what they’ve done. Religious faith is not supposed to be the reason for doing such evil things, but good things for instance, love, sacrifice, share and so on. We should help Rohingya first and then need to think of the function of those religions which make people kill each other. If we cannot understand and embrace the differences between religion, we’d better give up having one I think.
Emmanuel Jal's "We Want Peace"
Peace Video : Emmanuel Jal's "We Want Peace"
We Want Peace (WWP) is campaign to raise awareness on the fundamental principles of justice, equality, unification and conflict prevention, through the power of music, worldwide. It worked through internationally renowned artist, actor, author and activist. Dedication to Southern Sudan's historic referendum, Emmanuel launched the world wide music.
Like the quote the Emmanuel Jal said, peace can be possible only when we raise our awareness. Through this impressive campaign I want to be a Peace Soldier, someone who can activate awareness on those who abuse basic human rights. Someone that are individuals who use education and understanding as their only weapons in generating a peaceful environment.

Wars are all around the world
Wars are all around the world
Like myself, most people who haven’t experienced a war don’t really understand how precious the peace is. It’s like we do not know the value of food unless we have starved, and cannot understand the value of air unless we have experienced an oxygen shortage.
As you know, hundreds ordinary people are dying in one day at Gaza. Ordinary people, not soldiers, but children and women. Some pictures really make me sad and cry, and that's why I didn't upload them. You can still find them out through googling “gaza”. Numerous children are dying dreadfully.
We have to be in their shoes, though the events haven't happened to me. Think as it happened to my brother, sister, and my friends who are living together on this planet. So please remember these situations keeping eyes on these news, And let's dream together a world of peace together.
What would it feel like if bullets and rockets are falling down to you. And what if our beloved parents, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters are dying in front of you. With full of sorrows, full of hatred, you may say “When does the world of peace come where we see each other's smiling face in happiness!”
There was an airliner shot down, and about 300 passengers and crews boarded on the plane were all dead. If there was no conflict, there would not be such absurd death.
I do believe that we all have a right to live life enjoying peace no matter where we were born. But even now there are numerous people who are deprived this right in this same world we live in.
